Top Engineering

Professor Bartosz Andrzej Grzybowski will deliver a lecture entitled ā€žChematica: An automatic chemist for the 21st centuryā€, 27 March 2014.

Top Engineering - a series of meetings,  held  in cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Development, in which specialists working for different technological enterprises will take part. As part of this project the Center is planning to organise lectures by representatives of renowned technological institutions and companies and to present exhibitions covering scientific achievements in given technological fields. Meetings within the Top Engineering series will be addressed to the WUT academic community.

Professor Bartosz Andrzej Grzybowski - Yale graduate, got his PhD from Harvard University. At present, affiliated with Northwestern University, where he is a full professor and Director of Non-Equilibrium Energy Research Center. Professor Grzybowski is the author of over 200 publications in chemistry, physics and biology, including 20 articles in Science and Nature; the overall number of citations is 8000. A founder of a few biotechnological companies with total capital estimated at half a billion dollars. A winner of numerous awards, both American and European ones, for example: Soft Matter Award (Royal Society of Chemistry, UK), American Chemical Society Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry Unilever Award and recently a winner of 2013 Nanosience Prize. Professor Grzybowski has no car, TV set and mobile, and as some say, he lacks common sense as well.

The lecture will be given on Thursday, 27 March 2014, at 4:15 pm, lecture hall no. 329, the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science (WUT), Koszykowa St. 75.
