Colloqium Lectures WUT - prof. Marek Demiański

Professor Marek DemiaÅ„ski will deliver the lecture titled  "General Theory of Relativity - Theory and Applications", 26.10.2015.

Professor Marek DemiaÅ„ski is mostly interested in relativistic astrophysics and cosmology. Since 1962 he is connected with the Institute of Theoretical Physics, University of Warsaw. At the early stage of his scientific career he worked on mathematical and physical aspects of general theory of relativity. Since nineteen seventies he is mostly interested in relativistic astrophysics and cosmology,  in particular in the process of structure formation in the universe, properties of microwave relic radiation and the nature of dark matter and dark energy. He collaborates with several renown foreign institutes, for example, the Cosmic Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and Frederico II University in Naples. He was a visiting professor at the California Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin and since 1983 he is a frequent visitor at the Williams College, Massachusetts USA.

The lecture of Professor Demiański is organised on the occasion of celebration of Centenary Anniversary of Theory of Relativity at Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University of Technology.

Colloquium Lecture will take place on Thursday, 26 of November 2015, at 4.15 PM at lecture hall No.134,  Main Building of Warsaw University of Technology. After lecture the participants are invited for discussion session with the refreshments at Seminar Cafe.
