Colloquium Lecture: "How Power Electronics Changes The Contemporary Face Of Electrical Engineering", 20.05.2021

The Center for Advanced Studies at the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) invites you to an open remote meeting in the series of Colloquium Lecture, entitled "How power electronics changes the contemporary face of electrical engineering".

The main speaker will be Prof. Mariusz Malinowski from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering  WUT, accompanied by Prof. Lech Grzesiak (Faculty of Electrical Engineering  WUT), Prof. StanisÅ‚aw Janeczko (Center for Advanced Studies,  Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science WUT), Prof. Marek JasiÅ„ski (Faculty of Electrical Engineering  WUT).

„Power electronics is fast growing science, that find application in renewable energy systems, electromobility, energy storage and smart grids. Development of power electronics was possible thanks to modern high voltage and high current semiconductors (Si, SiC, GaN), high performance microprocessors/FPGA and advanced control methods. During open time of CAS will be presented examples of power electronics applications in electrical energy generation from wind, sun and water, vector control drives in electromobility as well as power electronics transformer in smart grids.

Prof. Mariusz Malinowski is Vice-Rector for Research of Warsaw University of Technology (since 2020), before he was chair of Industrial Electronics Division of Institute of Control and Industrial Electronics (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. He is member of The Council of Scientific Excellence and  President-Elect of IES – IEEE Industrial Electronics Society –biggest international engineering association. Mariusz Malinowski has been granted the many international awards and distinguishments for his research. He is co-author over 150 technical Publications and 6 books.

The meeting will take place on 20 May 2021 at 16:15 on the Zoom platform at:
