Colloquium Lecture – Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, 5.12.2016.
Professor Henryk Skarżyński is delivering a lecture “Hearing within the development of modern society – chances and risks”.
Presentation is connected with the ceremony of awarding Professor Henryk Skarżyński with Distinction of Center for Advanced Studies “Pythagoras Universe” and CAS statuette in the form of a crystal dodecahedron with the outline of Plato's Academy. Motto of CAS distiction is: Laus tibi, non tuleris qui vincula mente animoque (Thanks be to You, who has not allowed to imprison his power of mind and spirit). Prof. Henryk Skarżynski, M.D., Ph.D., dr. h.c. multi is worldwide renown scientist, otosurgeon, expert in otorhinolaryngology, audiology and phoniatrics; creator and director of Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing and World Hearing Center. His innovative otosurgical methods are implemented in medical centers all over the world. He was the first surgeon in Poland to perform cochlear implantation (1992) and brainstem implantation (1998). He is the author of the method of the treatment of partial deafness with cochlear implants (Partial Deafness Treatment PDT).
Prof. Henryk Skarżynski is a laureate of many prestigious awards and distictions, conferred with three honorary titles of doctor honoris causa, currently – national consultant in otorhinolaryngology in Poland; former national and regional consultant in audiology and phoniatrics.
The ceremony and Colloquium Lecture will take place on 5th of December 2016, at 4.15 p.m. at Senate Chamber (no.124) , Main Building of WUT.
