Visit of Professor Shuichi Izumiya at CAS, 14.09.2016
On 14th September, 2016 Professor Shuichi Izumiya was hosted at the Center of Advanced Studies at invitation of director of CAS, prof. Stanisław Janeczko.
Professor Shuichi Izumiya is the eminent specialist in geometry and singularity theory, since 1971 employed at the Faculty of Mathematics, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan.
He is the author of two books and over 100 articles published in international journals. He was a visiting fellow at: Chinese Academy of Science, Liverpool University, Carnegie Mellon University, Banach International Mathematical Centre, Valencia University, Durham University. Professor Izumiya is a member of numerous scientific associations: Mathematical Society of Japan, American Mathematical Society, London Mathematical Society and Mathematical Association of America.
